Undergraduates
Teaching of medical students takes place from the second to the final medical year. A series of lectures is given to the second year students, explaining the scientific basis of Immunology and its relevance to medicine. These lectures are included as component of a Molecular Medicine/ Biochemistry module. In the following year, a further series of lectures is delivered to the third year class, incorporated into the Pathology course. Much of this information is delivered in an interactive format, employing a series of case histories to demonstrate the value of knowledge of Immunology. In the final medical year, teaching is delivered in the format of a clinico-pathological conference.
Undergraduate teaching is also delivered to senior sophister basic science students in Trinity College, as part of Microbiology and Biochemistry/Immunology BA Mod courses.
