Hemolytic Anaemia: Malaria
- Infectious disease due to presence of parasitic protozoa, plasmodium, within the red blood cells.
- Most common cause of hemolytic anaemia worldwide.
- Plasmodium infected cells destroyed in spleen.
- Symptoms include cyclic fever and dark, almost black, urine (blackwater fever).
